The topc was agreed to be self injury and as I'm not going to be there here are a couple of articles (hopefully!) that should be of interest.
If anyone has any stuff on asphyxiation/masturbation in people with a severe LD I'd appreciate it big time!!!! Feeling a tad out of my depth on this one! LOL

There is a way to save things as open access on GoogleFiles and then post the link which is the best I've come up with - either that or take a photo/scan of the document and host it/post it using the icons above. - In high enough resolution they can be quite useable .

Today's topic was Self Injury, Deliberate Self Harm aand Suicide - and though we barely scratched the surface Tay shared some overheads from a training event Tony Osgood did recently (Thanks Tony!).

David talked a little (until kicked under the table:roll: about the course he is on at the moment and the sudden appearance of people within the LD service who are at risk of suicide where previously this had been almost unheard of) And we also had some great stories of success.

Discussion also ranged onto the importance of environments and the Rat Park Experiment - (see http://sciencethatmatters.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/02/sdarticle.pdf or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rat_Park)

For future meetings the use of DVDs and webcasts was mentioned - especially some of the IABA stuff taught by Willis and LaVigna - Watch this space, we'll see what we can find. (hopefully for less than the 2500 bucks IABA want for 4 DVDs )
